Fluent in Arabic in addition to other languages, James began his career as an Arabic interpreter at the Qatar Embassy in 1975 in London before joining Laurie Millbank as a private client wealth manager specialising in high net worth Middle Eastern clients. He then moved into the top end of the international Islamic antique market in 1982, working in partnership with the Islamic Department of London's oldest antique dealer Spinks & Sons in Pall Mall and organised exhibitions in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, inaugurated by the Mayor of Jeddah.
He now lives mainly in France and spreads his time between property management & development and working on investment projects with his extensive Middle Eastern contact base. He was the founding partner of the Infrastructure and Real Estate Investment Fund S.C.A. (IRE) and manager of the Societe de Gestion de Grands Projets Immobiliers S.A.R.L, both companies based in Luxembourg and engaged in acquiring super-prime properties in Paris from the French government. He joined Rosecastle Capital as an adviser in 2012.
James holds a BA from the Sorbonne University, Paris majoring in Arabic & Middle Eastern Studies.
