Giles Ward

Giles has worked in the Insurance industry since 1988. After joining Guardian Royal Exchange as a Casualty Underwriter and later Reinsurance Analyst in their UK head office, Giles transferred to Hong Kong for a short spell before being appointed as Technical Director of GRE’s Indonesian business in 1993. From there, he moved to Manila as General Manager of the Union Insurance Society of Canton in 1995, and in 1997 was appointed Managing Director of Guardian Thailand.

Following the acquisition of Guardian by AXA in 1999, Giles transferred to AXA Malaysia as Technical Advisor then Managing Director, and subsequently took on the additional role of Regional Director of Distribution & Marketing for AXA’s general insurance operations throughout Asia.

In 2006, Giles joined the ACE group as Regional Managing Director for the Middle East and North Africa, overseeing ACE’s existing businesses in Egypt, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia as well as the establishment of a new entity – ACE Bahrain – in 2007. Giles lives in Bahrain and continues to be responsible for the management and development of ACE’s business in the region. He joined Rosecastle Capital as an adviser in 2009.

Giles holds a BA (Econ) from the University of Manchester and is a Chartered Insurer.
